Durazno

San Pedro del Durazno is the capital of the department of Durazno in Uruguay, founded on October 12, 1821. It has a population of 30,529 (2004 census). Durazno is situated in the coast of the Yi River, affluent of the Río Negro River.

Durazno's beach

Durazno has a small beach over the edge of Yi River, with yellowish sand and calm, clear, and sweet water. Besides that, Sauzal beach is a common place for tourists during the summer holidays in the country, that is, from December to March.
