Drumsna (Droim ar Snámh) is a village in County Leitrim, Ireland. It is situated 6km east of Carrick-on-Shannon on the River Shannon and is located on the N4 National primary route which links Dublin and Sligo.
People
- The writer Anthony Trollope lived in the village for a while during the 1840s where he wrote The Macdermots of Ballycloran.
- One of the earliest pioneers of Methodism in the United States, Robert Strawbridge, was born in Drumsna.
- African explorer and surgeon, Thomas Heazle Parke, who travelled with Henry Morton Stanley on the Emin Pasha Relief Expedition, was born at Clogher House, Drumsna in 1857 and is buried in a small cemetery in the village, following his death in 1893. He was the first Irishman to cross the African continent.
Transport
- Drumsna railway station opened on 1 September 1863, and finally closed on 17 June 1963.
