Jack Haldean is the fictional main character of Dolores Gordon-Smith's books. Currently, he has appeared in two books, A fête worse than death and Mad about the boy. Jack, when younger, wanted to become a pilot, and, in 1915 (aged only 16), he was accepted into the new service.
After the war, Jack began writing detective stories, and became known for this talent. He was offered a job in a magazine office after solving a crime, and this kick-started all that was to happen to Jack.
Jack became a good friend to a police officer after trying to get information on a crime. He was later confided in about a huge murder, and this was to start all of which happens in the books.
