David Lloyd is an American Emmy Award-winning screenwriter and producer for television. He has written for many popular and award-winning sitcoms, such as The Mary Tyler Moore Show, The Bob Newhart Show, Taxi, Cheers, and Frasier.

Lloyd is probably most well known for writing the classic episode, "Chuckles Bites the Dust", for The Mary Tyler Moore Show, in which he won an Emmy for "Outstanding Writing in a Comedy Series" in 1976.
