The Daugavpils Starptautiskā Lidosta (Daugavpils International Airport) is located in village of Lociki, Naujene parish, Daugavpils district, Latgale region, Latvia. It is also located 12 km northeast of Daugavpils. phone: (+371) (54)75306

All of the airport's technical infrastructure, runway and buildings are what was left of the former soviet military air base. Today, the base is completely abandoned. In the past, it was home to 372 APIB (372nd Fighter-Bomber Aviation Regiment) flying MiG-23 and MiG-27 aircraft.

As of 2005 it is under major development to become Daugavpils International Airport.

In order to implement the project Daugavpils City Council founded Daugavpils lidosta Ltd. (Daugavpils Airport Ltd.) to develop the former military air base into Daugavpils International Airport.

They plan to build an international and regional airport in Daugavpils within the next few years suitable for large-scale airplanes which will allow for both international and domestic passenger traffic, international and domestic cargo transport and charter flights. They have intention to build a runway of 2500 m in length and 46 m in width.

The building of an international regional airport will also lead to the further development of other activities in the area based on servicing the airport and its customers and more work by to attract investment in the area.

Daugavpils International Airport should be open for business by 2013. When it does many people say that it can become a "Window to Europe".
