Coverage of the telecommunications sector expanded with the acquisition of Ovum Ltd in December 2006. Datamonitor also owns many other companies like Medtrack, Productscan, Butler Group, Verdict Research and Computerwire. However, Ovum is considered the most valuable acquisition it has made so far.
Datamonitor was acquired by healthcare and business intelligence firm Informa in 2007, making it a substantial part of one of the world's foremost specialist information groups.
