Datamonitor

Datamonitor (DM) is a leading provider of syndicated research, primarily delivered through its online portal, and full-service bespoke consulting services.

The company is based in the United Kingdom and also has offices in the United States, India, Australia, Japan, Dubai and other countries.

The Datamonitor team includes analysts, professional researchers and consultants. They provide data, analysis and forecasting across seven broad industry sectors: automotive, consumer markets, energy, financial services, health care, technology, and logistics. Clients can either purchase individual reports or subscribe to a Knowledge Center, through which they have access to the entire research output of a specific sector team. This comes to thousands of reports, databases and news and insight items a year. For more specific business needs, or for tailored strategic insights, Datamonitor has a consulting division.

Datamonitor has more than 6,000 clients worldwide, including many of the leading firms in the UK and US.

Their most recent office was opened in Dubai in 2008, and serves the Middle East and North Africa.

Coverage of the telecommunications sector expanded with the acquisition of Ovum Ltd in December 2006. Datamonitor also owns many other companies like Medtrack, Productscan, Butler Group, Verdict Research and Computerwire. However, Ovum is considered the most valuable acquisition it has made so far.

Datamonitor was acquired by healthcare and business intelligence firm Informa in 2007, making it a substantial part of one of the world's foremost specialist information groups.
