Dale Frail
Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia - Cite This SourceDale A. Frail is a Canadian radio astronomer working for the National Radio Astronomy Observatory (NRAO) in Socorro, New Mexico. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Toronto in 1989. In addition to searching for planetary bodies outside of our solar system, he also studies gamma ray bursts.
In early 1992 while working for NRAO, Frail and Polish astronomer Aleksander Wolszczan, announced their discovery of the existence of two planets and a possible third around the pulsar PSR 1257+12. Their discovery was confirmed in mid-1992. In addition to being the first confirmed discovery of pulsar planets, the find is also generally considered the first confirmed discovery of extrasolar planets of any kind.
