Dale considers Arnold Jacobs and Adolph Herseth, former principal brass instrumentalists of the CSO, to be his mentors.
Dale has performed with many ensembles worldwide, including the Berlin Philharmonic, with Daniel Barenboim conducting. He has taken part in many music festivals including the Santa Fe Chamber Music Festival, Florida Music Festival, Sarasota, Marrowstone Music Festival, Port Townsend, Washington, and Affinis Music Festival, Japan.
Among his many recordings, he was on the Grammy Award-winning recording "The Antiphonal Music of Gabrieli" with his fellow Chicago brass section, as well as the Brass sections of the Philadelphia Orchestra and the Cleveland Orchestra His album of the Mozart Horn Concertos was named Record of the Year in Hungary on the European label Hungaraton.
Mr. Clevenger currently teaches at Roosevelt University. He lives in Winnetka, Illinois with his wife, Alice.
