Daegu Metropolitan Subway serves the South Korean city of Daegu.

Lines

Daegu has two subway lines, Daegu Subway Line 1 and Daegu Subway Line 2. Line 1 was the site of the Daegu subway fire of 2003, when an arsonist set fire to a train in rush hour and killed nearly 200 people.

Line 2 was completed in October 2005.

The transport department has approved plans to build an Automated Guideway Transit line and is also planning to build a Monorail line.

Fare

Fare is based on the distance that one travels, which is 1100 won for a token to any stop on the subway. With the use of a transportation cash card, the fare is only 950 won.
