Cyprus High School

Cyprus High School is a public high school located at 8623 West 3000 South in Magna, Utah. Cyprus High opened its doors in 1918, and now has an enrollment of 1450. The current principal is John Welburn as of Feb. 5, 2007. The mascot is the Cyprus Pirate.

Cyprus High belongs to the Granite School District.

School background Cyprus High School’s long-standing tradition of excellence dates back to April of 1918, when Cyprus High School first opened it’s doors. The auditorium was added in 1974 and the science building in 1978. Due to the age of the main building, it was completely rebuilt in 1984. We are proud to have many distinguished leaders in business and government among our alumni.

The school boundaries are: Beginning at 2100 south and 5600 west, then west to 7500 west, then north to the Davis County Line, then west to the Tooele County Line, then south to 6600 south, then east to 7200 west, then north to the Utah and Salt Lake Canal at 3900 south, then east along the Canal to 6400 west at 3980 south, then north to 3500 south, then east to 5600 west, then north to 2100 south, the point of beginning.

All students that live within two miles of the school walk to school. Granite School District provides buses for those who live further than two miles from school.

Cyprus High School has 63 classroom and six relocatable classrooms.

Enrollment Cyprus High School serves approximately 1,450 students in three grades, 10th, 11th and 12th. 75.58% are Caucasian 1.78% are Asian 2.19% are Pacific Islander 18.24% are Hispanic 1.37% are African American 0.82% are Native American.

Computers and Technology Cyprus High School has five computer labs, using the most updated equipment. These labs are available for students for regular class work, remedial and Honors and Advanced Placement programs. The media facility is fully automated and has two computer labs.
