Custom House, London

The area is named after the Custom House of Royal Victoria Dock.
The first Custom House in London was built in 1275 and was located near Billingsgate Market in the City of London.
Custom House Hotel (corner Freemasons Road), built in the late 1990's, was largely destroyed by a spectacular blaze on Friday 7th March 2008. The roof, and 5th floor caught alight first. 50 Firemen were needed to quell the blaze. It had been built to service the expected trade from the nearby ExCeL centre.
Sport and recreation
Custom House has a King George's Field in memorial to King George V.
