Constança of Aragon

Constança of Aragon (1343 - 2 July/18 July, 1363) was the first Queen consort of Frederick III the Simple.

Family

She was a daughter of Peter IV of Aragon and his first wife Maria of Navarre.

Her maternal grandparents were Joan II of Navarre and her King consort Philip III of Navarre.

Joan was a daughter of Louis X of France and Margaret of Burgundy. Philip III was a son of Louis d'Évreux and Marguerite d'Artois.

Louis X was a son of Philip IV of France and Joan I of Navarre. Louis d'Évreux was a son of Philip III of France and his second wife Maria of Brabant.

Philip IV was also a son of Philip III by his first wife Isabella of Aragon.

Marriage

On 11 April, 1361, Constança married Frederick III the Simple. The bride was about eighteen years old and the groom twenty. They only had one daughter:
