Newman also maintained The Good Net-Keeping Seal of Approval (GNKSA), a set of criteria for Usenet client programs to encourage good posting behavior.

Also of note in the 1990s was his web page on Scientology vs. the Internet, which was at one stage the primary resource on the controversy. Newman stopped maintaining the page in October 1996, following which Operation Clambake became the most prominent critical website on Scientology from early 1997.
