CA, Inc. is a company providing information technology management software. CA was founded in 1976, and is headquarted in Long Island, New York.

CA is broken out into three main business units: Governance, Business Service Management, and Security Management. The Governance business unit includes the Project and Portfolio Management and Information Governance products lines. The Business Service Management business unit includes IT Service Management, Workload Automation, and Application Performance Management products. The Security Management business unit includes Identity and Access Management, Security Information Management, and Threat Management product lines.

History

  • Founded in 1976 as Computer Associates International, Inc., by Queens College graduate Charles B. Wang along with others including Russell Artzt. The company has been based in New York throughout its history.

Business Service Management products include: CA Software Change Manager (formerly known as AllFusion Harvest Change Manager, Unicenter Service Desk, CA CMDB, and products Application Performance Management technologies acquired from Wily Technology in 2006.

Solutions in this category protect information assets and manage risks by monitoring and enforcing policy-based controls, managing identities and ensuring appropriate access. Products in this category include CA Siteminder and CA ACF2.
