Christian Lell

Christian Lell (born August 29, 1984 in Munich, Germany) is a German football defender who plays for Bayern Munich.

Football career

Lell is a product of the Bayern Munich Junior Team. Lell saw action with Bayern Munich's second team in the Regionalliga Süd from 2001 to 2004. He made his Bundesliga debut against Hertha BSC Berlin on October 4, 2003, and made three subsequent appearances for Bayern in Bundesliga play that season. Lell was loaned to 1. FC Köln between 2004 and 2006 returning to Bayern in July 2006

The 07-08 Bundesliga Season meant a lot to Christian Lell. Because of the injury problem to vice-captain and starting right-back Willy Sagnol, Ottmar Hitzfeld decided to put Lell into the starting line-up as the right fullback. In this season, Lell earned 28 appearances playing in the Bundesliga, scored one goal and provided four assists. In the German Cup, he played 8 matches, and in the UEFA CUP, he played 11 matches and scored one goal.

He scored his first Bundesliga goal on April 6, 2008 against VfL Bochum.

International career

Christian Lell represented Germany on the Under-20 team at the 2003 FIFA World Youth Championship.
