Charles McGee was the executive director of the New Hampshire Republican Party. He was convicted of phone-jamming Democratic efforts to organize a get out the vote effort for their candidate running against John E. Sununu during the 2002 New Hampshire US Senate race. Senator Sununu was elected by about 19,000 votes. The phone-jamming incident led to one of the biggest political scandals in the state's history.

McGee pleaded guilty to a felony and was sentenced to seven months. His associates, James Tobin and Allen Raymond, were also prosecuted. Tobin, however, had his conviction reversed on appeal. crime.
