The Center for Libertarian Studies is a libertarian and anarcho-capitalist oriented educational organization founded in 1976 by Murray Rothbard, which grew out of the Libertarian Scholars Conferences (held in 1972 and 75). During its early years, it published the Journal of Libertarian Studies from 1977 to 2000 (now published by the Ludwig von Mises Institute), a newsletter (In Pursuit of Liberty), several monographs, and sponsored conferences (the Libertarian Scholars Conference in 1972, 1975, 1976, 1982, and others?), seminars & symposia.

Originally headquartered in New York, it later moved to California.

Online, it supports the website of Lew Rockwell (who is the Vice President of CLS), LewRockwell.com.
