Caulfield is a suburb of Melbourne, Australia, in the state of Victoria.

It is in the Local Government Area of the City of Glen Eira, and South Caulfield is home to the former Caulfield Town Hall, the offices of the city. It is 11 km from the Melbourne CBD.

Its postcode is 3162.

It is home to Caulfield Racecourse and the Caulfield campus of Monash University. Helen Shardey is the Liberal State Member for Caulfield.

Caulfield Park is a large Victorian garden flanked by Hawthorn, Balaclava and Inkerman Roads that features a war memorial, decorative lake and playing fields for various sports.

The neighborhood has a large (for Melbourne) Jewish population.

Geography

The boundary of Caulfield commences with Kooyong Road from the west, Glen Eira Road from the north, Glenhuntly Road from the south and Booran Road from the east.

Caulfield is one of Melbourne's suburbs most serviced by public transport.

Trains connect the suburb to the city via the major transport interchange, Caulfield railway station at Caulfield East.

Trams service North South and East Caulfield extensively via route 67 (along Glenhuntly Rd) route 64 (along Hawthorn Rd), crossing Hawthorn Road at both Balaclava Road and Glenhuntly Road and route 3 near the railway station.
