Caspian IX is a fictional character in the world of The Chronicles of Narnia. He was the father of Caspian X (also known as Prince Caspian). His brother, Miraz, killed him in order to seize the throne, though how he did it remains a mystery. Miraz later tried to do the same to Caspian X when his own son was born.
Caspian IX and his ancestors were Telmarine, successors of buccaneers who had once been teleported into Narnia from our world, as were Pevensie children and some other humans.
The kings preceding Caspian X, Caspian IX included, tried to root out the original inhabitants of Narnia (such as talking animals, dryads, fauns and centaurs), and forbade any rumours that these beings really existed.
Caspian IX was later accepted into the second Narnia, where he lived happily with his son.
