The municipality of Cardeto contains the frazioni (subdivisions, mainly villages and hamlets) Pantano (Pandaros), Mannarella, Sant'Elia, Mallamaci (Mallamakioi), Cartalimi, Iriti (Iritos), Piraino, Colachecco, Loddini, Castanea (Kastanià), Chimputo, Ambele (Amvyla), Lamberta, Giurricando, Garcea, Calvario,Scranò, and Scala.
Cardeto borders the following municipalities: Bagaladi, Reggio Calabria, Roccaforte del Greco.
