Cape Cod Regional Technical High School is a public vocational and technical high school located in Harwich, Massachusetts. The school accepts students from the towns of Mashpee, Barnstable, Yarmouth, Dennis, Harwich, Chatham, Brewster, Orleans, Eastham, Wellfleet, Truro and Provincetown. "Cape Cod Tech" is located just of Route 6 in Harwich to left of the off-ramp of Exit 10. The school has an approximate enrollment of 800 students in grades 9-12. The schools mascot is the Crusaders and the schools colors are Maroon and Gold. Cape Cod Regional Technical High School was founded in 1975 in Harwich, Massachusetts. It started out as a school for unruly children that anyone could enroll in, but now it is a school that is very competitive and is recognized for its academic and shop work. Shops at Cape Cod Tech are: Horticulture, Cosmetology, Culinary Arts, Dental Assisting, Early Childhood Education, Electrical, Graphic Arts, HVAC, Information Technology, Masonry, Marine Science, Nursing, Plumbing, and Welding. Once a year all of the Technical schools in America go to a competition called SkillsUSA. there is a district, then a state then national's. each shop competes against other shops from different schools in an area that they specialize in. The national competition is held in Kansas City, Missouri. The Senior class started the recycling program known as the "Green Beings" at cape cod tech. they have even filmed themselves for the local television station in order to help get out the message that Cape Cod Tech recycles.
Cape Cod Tech is part of the MIAA and fields many varsity sports. The schools mascot is the Crusaders and the schools colors are maroon and gold. Cape Cod Tech often co-ops with nearby Harwich High School for many sports including football and also has a co-op deal with Chatham High School for hockey.
Every year Cape Cod Tech participates in Skills USA which is a national competition between technical schools for students to show what they have learned. Carol Olsen, a Graphic Arts instructor, organizes Cape Cod Tech's involvement in Skills USA.
