CanalSat is a French digital satellite and DSL pay television service owned by Canal+ Group (66%) and Lagardere Active (34%), a subsidiary of Lagardère. CanalSat was founded in 1992 as CanalSatellite.

It was recently announced that CanalSat has been approved to merge with competitor TPS. The new entity will be controlled by Vivendi (owner of CanalSat) with a 65% share. Minority shareholders will be Lagardère (20%), TF1 (9.9%) and M6 (5.1%).
