Warren Anderson Mathis (born March 6, 1977), known by his stage name Bubba Sparxxx, is an American Southern rapper. In addition to the commercial success of his "Ms. New Booty," Sparxxx is notable for his hit singles "Ugly" and "Deliverance" and for achieving success as a southern rapper. His most notable hit is "Ms. New Booty" featuring The Ying Yang Twins which peaked at #1 in the United States.

Biography

Sparxxx was born in LaGrange, Georgia. He spent his child hood in this town, and knew that he always had a passion for music. He wrote the song "Ms. New Booty" in honor of his close friend who refers to herself as Ms. New Booty.

Beat Club

His first commercial CD release saw some success in Georgia, and the album Dark Days, Bright Nights caught the attention of Jimmy Iovine of Interscope Records. He signed to Interscope and began working with record producers Timbaland and Organized Noize. The major-label version of Dark Days, Bright Nights (released via Timbaland's Beat Club Records imprint), which now included five collaborations with Timbaland and two with Organized Noise, debuted at #3 on the Billboard Music Charts. In 2002, he had a minor hit being featured on Archie Eversole's "We Ready", which became popular for being played at sport events, such as football and basketball games. In late 2003, he returned with his second album, Deliverance (again through Beat Club Records) which was critically acclaimed, but a poor seller.

Life After Beat Club

The poor sales of this critically adored album were attributed to an unclear classification of Bubba; it is believed that the album was too hip-hop for a rock audience and too rock for a hip-hop audience. He soon departed from Beat Club and began an association with Koch, as reported on AllHipHop.com. His latest album, The Charm (2006), is much more conventional and as a result has generated impressive sales in addition to two hit singles ("Ms. New Booty" and "Heat It Up"). He is signed to his own label, New South Entertainment which is distributed by Koch Records. He has recently released a mixtape, entitled "Survive Till Ya Thrive," hosted by DJ Burn One and featuring all new material. Bubba is currently working on two projects: a Compilation of New South artists as well as his fourth studio LP.

His as yet untitled fourth release is slated to drop in the Summer of 2008

Other Media

He has also appeared in the video games Def Jam: Fight for NY (2004) and Madden 2004.
