Bowman Foster Ashe

Bowman Foster Ashe (April 3, 1885 - December 16, 1952) was a U.S. educator who served as the first president of the University of Miami.

An alumnus of Mount Union College and the University of Pittsburgh, Ashe was initially hired by the university to oversee the institution during its challenged infancy. He would remain president until his death in 1952.

At the University of Miami, he was the first sponsor of the Iron Arrow Honor Society, the highest honor awarded a student or faculty member at the university. The university's administration building, the Ashe Administration Building, is named in his honor.
