The blackspotted catshark

, is a cat shark
of the family Scyliorhinidae
, found from Japan
, and Taiwan
39° N and 20° N, at depths of between 80 and 100 m
. Its length is up to 49 cm
The blackspotted catshark is found on the continental shelf
in the sublittoral zone above 100 m.
Reproduction is oviparous, but with several egg-capsules retained in the oviduct until the embryos reach an advanced stage before they are laid which might be regarded as being intermediate between oviparity and ovoviviparity.
