Background
Bishop Snyder was established in 2002 to serve the growing Catholic population in the west Jacksonville area. It is named after Bishop John J. Snyder, the retired 8th Bishop of the Diocese of St. Augustine.
Championships
In
2006, the Bishop John J. Snyder High School Cardinals
softball team won the 2A Florida State Championship. At this time, the school was only
4 years old.
Alumni
Two
football players, Shawn Schmieder and Greg Shafe, have gone on to play in
college. Schmieder is an offensive lineman for the
Florida Gators. Shafe is a
linebacker for the
Division III Dana College in
Nebraska.
