Berkeley, California. Primarily a music project of
Lorin Ashton, Bassnectar is also accompanied by various collaborators. Ashton describes Bassnectar's sound as "omni-tempo maximalism" fusing elements of midtempo

Old school hip hop and
Dub,
Drum and Bass,
Grindcore,
Hip hop,
Bluegrass, and
Jazz, utilizing samples from diverse sources.
