The Athens Open is a defunct tennis event on the WTA and ATP Tour. It was held annually in Athens, Greece, from 1986-1994 and was played on clay courts. Then in 2008 the tournament was renewed, under the new name 'Athens Status Open'. The women's tournament was held for the final time in 1990, and was classed in the Tier V category of WTA events. Nowadays there is now women's tournament, only the mens.

The prize fund for winning the event was $75,000 in the women's singles. Jordi Arrese, on the men's side, achieved the greatest success in at the event, winning twice and reaching the final once. Cecilia Dahlman was the only woman to win the tournament more than once (not including doubles).
