- Ashra Kwesi, a Dallas-based historian and lecturer on ancient civilization

- A Hindu surname predominantely found in the north-western Indian state of Gujarat, belonging to a farming caste. Recently this caste has self-elevated itself to a new caste called bhramakshatriyas, to escape prejudice and also the socio-economic constraints being imposed on the farming communities in modern day 'industrialising' India. The creation of this new caste makes the process of rural to urban migration significantly easier for the Ashras and other 'bhramakshatiya' (farmer) families.
