Nizami Aruzi

Ahmad ibn Umar ibn Alī, known as Nizamī-i Arūzī-i Samarqandī was a Persian poet of the 12th century.

Born in Samarqand, Arudhi Samarqandi spent time serving under Omar Khayyám, and he is particularly famous for his Chahar Maqala ("Four Discourses"), his only work to fully survive.

He served in the courts of the Ghurids for many years, and is considered one of the elite of the Persian prose writers.
