Andrew Lesnie (born 1956) is an Australian cinematographer. He lives in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. Lesnie attended the Australian Film, Television and Radio School (AFTRS), graduating in 1979. His first job after graduation was as a cameraman on the Logie Award-winning Australian magazine-style afternoon TV show Simon Townsend's Wonder World Simon Townsend gave Lesnie almost daily opportunities to develop his craft with little restriction over a wide variety of stories and situations, and to experiment with camera and lighting techniques in hundreds of locations and situations. In return Lesnie produced some sensational visual work for Simon Townsend's Wonder World!, and made a significant contribution to the creative brilliance that drew such a large audience to this TV show.

After two years working on this show, Lesnie moved on to numerous Australian film and television productions, including the mini-series Bodyline, but his work only started attracting major international attention after the release of Kennedy Miller's exquisitely anthropomorphic pig-story Babe (1995) and its sequel, Babe: Pig in the City. He was Director of Photography (DP) on Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings trilogy, and received an Oscar for his work in The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring in 2002. He was also DP on Jackson's "King Kong". His upcoming work includes M.Night Shyamalan's The Last Airbender

He worked on I Am Legend recently and lives on the North Coast of Sydney, Australia.
