Analog video is a
video signal transferred by
analog signal. It contains the
luminance (brightness) and
chrominance (color) of the image, which may be carried in separate channels, as in
component video (
YPbPr) and
S-Video, or combined in one channel, as in
composite video and
RF connector.
Analog video is used in both consumer and professional applications. However, digital signal formats with higher quality have been adopted, including serial digital interface (SDI), Firewire (IEEE1394), DVI and HDMI.
