American Standard (John Adams)

American Standard is an early piece by the noted American composer John Adams. It is a triptych consisting of three pieces: a march, a hymn, and a jazz standard. The middle piece, "Christian Zeal and Activity", includes slow tonal chords and a recorded sample of a preacher delivering a sermon.
