The FIS Alpine World Ski Championships 2009 are to be held in Val d'Isère, Savoie, France, in from 30 January-15 February 2009. The FIS awarded the Alpine World Skiing Championships on June 2 2004 in Miami. Other candidates were Schladming and Vail.
