Alberto García Aspe Mena (born May 11, 1967 in Mexico City) was a Mexican soccer midfielder, and one of the all-time appearance leaders for the Mexican national team. His international debut came on April 26, 1988, in an impressive 4-1 victory against Honduras. Garcia Aspe has participated in 109 matches, scoring a total 21 goals. In addition, Garcia played in three World Cups (1994, 1998 and 2002).
In his club career that started in 1984, García Aspe played for UNAM Pumas, Necaxa, River Plate, América, and Puebla. Aspe compiled 109 caps, scoring 21 goals for the Mexican National Soccer Team. García Aspe played in three World Cups (1994, 1998, and 2002).
Aspe was rewarded 4 Championships at a professional level with UNAM Pumas (1991),Necaxa (1995, 1996 and 1997). The only penalty kick he's missed in his entire career was in the first game of the second round at the 1994 U.S World Cup during a series of penalties with opposing team Bulgaria.
