ACT Airlines is a cargo airline based in Istanbul, Turkey. It operates international charter air cargo services, as well as ACMI and wet and dry lease services. Its main base is Atatürk International Airport, Istanbul.

History

Although ACT Airlines was established in 2004, the company changed ownership in March 2006 when Turkish aviation veterans Yavuz Cizmeci and Cankut Bagana teamed up with HBK investments LLP to acquire the company. In February 2008, a 21 percent equity stake was acquired by Manara Investments Ltd., Manara is a newly established investment vehicle sponsored by four leading Saudi business groups. New partners and existing shareholders expect ACT Airlines to become a leading regional and international player..

ACT has also received the prestigious SCATA Supply Chain and Transport Award for ‘The Air Cargo Operator of the Year’ in recognition of its exceptional customer service in 2007. The airlines will also apply for IATA certification this year after IOSA audit. ACT Airlines has also gone through the IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) in 2007.

ACT announced firm orders for two Airbus A330-200 freighters on 15 August 2007 to develop long range cargo routes including New York, Singapore and Hong Kong.
