The
2004 Italian Grand Prix was a
Formula One race held on
September 12,
2004 at the
Autodromo Nazionale Monza. Ferrari took a 1-2 in front of the delighted Tifosi, with Rubens Barrichello ahead. Both cars had to make their way through the field from the back, Rubens having made an early pitstop after choosing the wrong tyes at the start and Michael having spun on the first lap. The most noted incident of the race was Alonso spinning out and attempting to gain assistance from the marshals, who are not allowed to push cars out of a safe position in the gravel, despite the fact his R24 was in harm's way and partially on track at the Variante della Roggia chicane.
