Álvaro Misael Alfaro (born January 6, 1971 in El Salvador) is a Salvadoran football player, who currently plays for Atletico Balboa.
Debut
Alvaro Misael Alfaro made his professional debut for
C.D. Luis Angel Firpo in 1995
and was soon promoted to starting goalie, he had very successful time with Luis Angel Firpo winning 4 titles (1997-98, 1999 Clausura, and 2000 Clausura) and earning his first international cap for the
El Salvador.
Internatioonal career
Alvaro Misael Alfaro has been the most consistent player for El Salvador during the 90's and early 2000.
Misael Alfaro has competed in 3
Gold Cup (1996,2000,2002) and 4
UNCAF Nations Cup.
Misael Alfaro played in two world cup campaign both were unsuccessful failing to progress to final group stages.
Alvaro Misael Alfaro announced his retirement from the international game 2006, after learning off problems with his heart.

El Salvador lost to
Panama 3:0 away, which inadvertly eliminated El Salvador from 2006 world cup.
