White Fungus Magazine

White Fungus is an independent arts magazine based in Wellington, New Zealand concentrating on the visual arts, experimental music, comics, literature, history and political commentary and satire. The publication is run by an evolving collective of writers, designers and artists, often writing under provocative pseudonyms.

The magazine first began in 2004, as a free photocopied hand-out protesting construction of Wellington's innercity bypass and lack of support for artists by the council. The magazine now comes out biannually as a printed publication and is sold throughout New Zealand and around the world.

White Fungus is edited by Ron Hanson and designed by Mark Hanson and Carla Schollum. Its contributors have included Tim Bollinger, Aaron Coyes, Cyril Wong, Tobias Fischer, Rowan Laing, Tessa Laird, Andrew Paul Wood, Kate Montgomery, Hamish Wynn, Veialu Aila-Unsworth, Spike Mountjoy, Jamil Anderlini, Thomas Lahood, Jo Randerson and Tom Hunt.
