The Story of the Little Mole Who Knew It Was None of His Business (ISBN 1-856-02101-7) is a children's book by Werner Holzwarth and Wolf Erlbruch first published by Chrysalis Children's Books on 13th Sep 2001. While being a very funny book in itself, it also gives children the opportunity to talk about natural bodily functions, a subject that is not normally discussed in Western society, as well as introducing ideas of a nature trail and various animals.

The book has also been turned into a play that was staged for children at the Edinburgh Festival in 2002.

Synopsis

A mole discovers a pile of poo on his head and is certain that it doesn't belong to him. He sets out on a mission to discover who it does belong to. His investigation takes him into the world of many animals, as he wanders and compares the pile on his head to the piles that other animals leave behind them. He finally receives some assistance from some flies who help him identify a sleeping dog. Our hero exacts his revenge by doing a mole size poo into the dog's mouth.
