Happiness Is the Road

Happiness Is the Road is Marillion's forthcoming 15th studio album, a double album (released as two individual CDs; only those who pre-order the special edition will receive a collected double album) expected to be released on October 20, 2008. The album title was announced on March 12 2008, along with the subtitles of the individual discs, Essence and The Hard Shoulder which will be available individually upon release. The album was made available for pre-order in October 2007, the proceeds of which were used to finance the recording and promotion of the album. The tracklisting was revealed on July 30, 2008.

The first single from the album is called "Whatever Is Wrong With You". The release is scheduled for October 1, 2008.

Marillion will initially make the album available for free on peer-to-peer files. When the tracks are first played, a pop-up box will appear, allowing listeners to give the band their email address. This will be used to contact downloaders with offers on Marillion merchandise.
