Theo Thomas Young

in Newport, Arkansas
) is a former professional American football
player and current college assistant coach.
Young played college football for the University of Arkansas Razorbacks and was drafted in the 12th round of the 1987 NFL Draft.
A tight end, Young played one season in the National Football League for the Pittsburgh Steelers. He caught 2 passes for 10 yards in 12 games in 1987.
Following his professional career, Young moved into the coaching ranks, serving as an assistant at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and Clemson University. He spent twelve years coaching for the Rice University Owls as assistant to his former college coach Ken Hatfield. Young joined the staff of Baylor University as defensive ends coach in 2008.
