Tag Entertainment

Tag Entertainment was largely founded by Steve Austin and became a publicly-held movie production company formerly headquartered in Santa Monica, California. The company was described as a Christian faith centered producer of family movies. Shares in Tag Entertainment (symbols TAGE and TAGEE) are no longer traded on any major exchange, due to Mr. Austin's cease and desist letter from the Federal Government, owing to mail fraud.

Tag Entertainment and its subsidiaries were the subject of several government investigations. Founder and principal Steve Austin (covered in a separate Wikipedia entry) was scheduled to stand trial from charges directly related to his activities at his company and subsidiaries; Austin pleaded guilty to all charges before a trial scheduled to begin on March 25, 2008. The sentencing and restitution phase of the public trial is scheduled to include a court date following on September 22 at the Edward R. Roybal Federal Building and Courthouse, located at 255 E. Temple Street, in Los Angeles, California. Nationwide, there are approximately 800 victims covered by this federal prosecution. All victims covered in the litigation are eligible to give their victim impact statement at the hearing. The public is welcome to attend.

Music producer and convicted swindler Lou Pearlman was involved with the company as an executive producer.
