Adare GAA club is a GAA club based in Adare, west County Limerick, Republic of Ireland. Hurling is more popular in the village. Adare are the current Limerick senior hurling champions, after defeating Croom in the county final on November 11th 2007.
Adare have reached the county senior hurling final on 9 occasions, most recently in 2007 where they defeated by Croom. They won their first championship in 2001 and successfully defended it in 2002, and to date the are the last team to have successfully defended the county championship.
In football they haven't traditionally been successful at senior level, however in recent years they have regularly been in contention for the county championship. In 2002 they reached their first county football final where they were defeated after a replay by Monaleen.
The village regularly enjoys success at underage level in both codes.
Mark Foley has played in 2 all Ireland finals and won 2 all-stars in 1996 and 2001. He captained Limerick in 2008 and he has also captained the county team in 2002 and 2003. Also on the county hurling panel at present are Conor Fitzgerald, Wayne McNamara, Donnacha Sheehan and Michael Noonan.
Present senior manager is Ger 'Sparrow' O'Loughlin, former star forward, double All Star winner, and trainer of Clare, and trainer and native of Clarecastle.
