Sowing the Seeds of Love

"Sowing the Seeds of Love" is a 1989 hit song by popular British group Tears for Fears. The song reached #2 in the US singles chart and #5 in the UK singles chart, as well as reaching #1 on the Modern Rock Tracks list in the US. It was the first and biggest hit from their 1989 album The Seeds of Love, also reaching the Top 5 in Ireland, Italy, and the Netherlands. The song is notable for being an intentional pastiche of The Beatles.

The music video, directed by Jim Blashfield, won two awards at the MTV Music Video Awards - Best Breakthrough Video and Best Special Effects.

Rick Parfitt Jr. re-recorded the song in 2007 as the title music for Holly Willoughby and Fearne Cotton's dating show, Holly & Fearne Go Dating, which aired on UK commercial channel ITV1 in September 2007.
