Silver Bell

Silver Bell

Silver Bell was intended to be Patty Griffin's third album, but went unreleased by A&M Records, which scrapped its 2000 release after being bought by Interscope , spurring Griffin to leave the label and sign to Dave Matthews' ATO Records . Several songs from the Silver Bell sessions were leaked out. "Making Pies" was re-recorded for 1000 Kisses in 2002, the same year that the Dixie Chicks covered two other Silver Bell songs on their 6x platinum Home, "Truth #2" and "Top of the World." In 2004, Patty Griffin released the re-recorded "Top of the World" and "Standing" on Impossible Dream. In 2006, The Wreckers released their version of "One More Girl" on Stand Still, Look Pretty and Joan Osborne released her version of "What You Are" on Pretty Little Stranger.
