The
Irish 1,000 Guineas is a
Group 1 flat horse race in the
Republic of Ireland for three-year-old
thoroughbred fillies. It is run over a distance of 1
mile at the
Curragh in May. It was first run in 1922.
In 2004, the filly Attraction became the first winner of the English 1,000 Guineas to also win this, its Irish equivalent. This feat was repeated in 2007 by Finsceal Beo, who between the two victories had finished runner-up in the French version, the Poule d'Essai des Pouliches.
