repulsive force

Repulsive force (astronomy)

Repulsive force is the temporary name given to the force that seems to tear away the universe. It was first postulated when observations proved that galaxies get away from each other faster and faster contrary to the standard theory of Big Bang and gravity that assumed that either galaxies eventually contracted again in a singularity or, at least, had their motion slowed. Some scientists postulate Dark Energy to account for this behaviour but also look at the wave interpretation reported in the gravity section.
