List of red-flagged Formula One races

This is a partial list of Formula One World Championship races which have been red-flagged, that is to say stopped at an unscheduled time. A race is red-flagged in dangerous conditions.

2003 Brazilian 56 rain and accidents of Mark Webber and Fernando Alonso Over 75% of the race distance had been completed so the race was not restarted and Giancarlo Fisichella was awarded the race win.
2001 Belgian 5 accident of Luciano Burti The race was restarted with Michael Schumacher on pole. With the new rules, the second part of the race was declared the overall race result (previously, aggregate times had been used).
2001 German 1 accident of Luciano Burti The race was restarted with Juan Pablo Montoya on pole.
2000 Monaco 1 Computer glitch of starting lights. The information didn't catch all the drivers so Pedro de la Rosa and Jenson Button collided, causing traffic jam. The race was restarted with Michael Schumacher on pole.
1999 British 1 Accident of Michael Schumacher and stalled cars of Alex Zanardi and Jacques Villeneuve. The race was restarted with Mika Häkkinen on pole.
1998 Belgian 1 rain and a major accident involving more than half the field The race was restarted with Mika Häkkinen on pole. Rubens Barrichello, Olivier Panis, Mika Salo, and Ricardo Rosset were unable to take the restart due to spare car being used by their team mate.
1998 French 1 Stalled car of Jos Verstappen The race was restarted over the original distance with Mika Häkkinen on pole.
1998 Canadian 1 first corner accident involving Jean Alesi, Alexander Wurz, Johnny Herbert and Jarno Trulli The race was restarted with David Coulthard on pole. All four drivers involved in the collision took the restart using their spare cars.
1997 Canadian 56 accident of Olivier Panis Over 75% of the race distance had been completed so the race was not restarted and Michael Schumacher was awarded the race win.
1997 Brazilian 1 accident of Giancarlo Fisichella, Eddie Irvine, Jan Magnussen and Damon Hill and stalled car of Rubens Barrichello. The race was restarted over the original distance with Jacques Villeneuve on pole. Magnussen was unable to take the restart.
1996 Australian 1 accident of Martin Brundle, David Coulthard and Johnny Herbert The race was restarted over the original distance with Jacques Villeneuve on pole. Johnny Herbert was unable to take the restart.
1995 Portuguese 1 accident of Ukyo Katayama, Andrea Montermini, Luca Badoer and Roberto Moreno. Katayama was injured. The race was restarted over the original distance with David Coulthard on pole. Katayama and Max Papis failed to restart.
1995 Italian 1 accident of Max Papis, Jean-Christophe Boullion, Andrea Montermini, Pedro Diniz and Roberto Moreno. The race was restarted over the original distance with David Coulthard on pole. Montermini and Moreno failed to restart.
1995 Monaco 1 accident of Jean Alesi, Gerhard Berger and David Coulthard The race was restarted over the original distance with Damon Hill on pole. Domenico Schiattarella failed to restart.
1995 Argentine 1 accidents of Rubens Barrichello, Luca Badoer, Jean Alesi, Mika Salo and Olivier Panis The race was restarted over the original distance with David Coulthard on pole. Badoer failed to restart.
1994 Japanese 13 rain and accident of Martin Brundle The race was restarted and run on aggregate with Michael Schumacher on pole. The restart was done behind the safety car.
1994 Italian 1 accident of Eddie Irvine, Johnny Herbert, David Coulthard and Olivier Panis The race was restarted over the original distance with Jean Alesi on pole.
1994 San Marino 5 fatal accident of Ayrton Senna The race was restarted with Michael Schumacher on pole.
1992 French 18 rain The race was restarted with Riccardo Patrese on pole.
1991 Australian 14 rain and accidents of Jean Alesi, Nicola Larini, Michael Schumacher, and later Nigel Mansell and Gerhard Berger Rain continued to fall so the race was not restarted and Ayrton Senna was awarded the race win. Half-points were awarded.
1990 Portuguese 61 accident of Alex Caffi The race was not restarted and Nigel Mansell was awarded the race win.
1990 Italian 2 accident of Derek Warwick The race was restarted from original race distance with Ayrton Senna on pole.
1990 Belgian 1 accident in the start The race was restarted over the original distance with Ayrton Senna on pole. Aguri Suzuki and Martin Donnelly failed to start.
1 accident of Paolo Barilla and damaged barrier The race was restarted over the original distance with Ayrton Senna on pole. Suzuki and Barilla failed to restart.
