Yellow Rat Bastard is a retail clothing store with its flagship outlet located in New York City SoHo area. Recently it has opened two new stores in Brooklyn and Queens. Yellow Rat Bastard is under the name X-Treem Vibe, Inc. The current owner of the store is Henry Ishay. They specialize in selling clothing, footwear, accessories.

History

YELLOW RAT BASTARD (YRB), the word YRB was originally developed by Mark Ecko, a former store manager and the space designer of the NYC store. The idea for the store came from a Frank Miller comic book called "Sin City"; it had an issue entitled "Yellow Rat Bastards".

The store has become a NYC tourist attraction and NYC counter cultures skater, thrasher shopping mecca. Clothing has transitioned from goth punk scene, to skater scene, to hip hop urban retail environment. One of the last large independent retailer in what is becoming an upscale retail environment on Broadway in Soho., the store recently release its lease on the flagship store to UK retailer TopShop, an upscale "H&M type" retailer.

Their current SoHo location is now across the street, taking over the space of their affiliate store, what used to be "Dirty Jane/Sloppy Joe".
